The year is 2052.
Artificial intelligence is in its still in its infancy and like all great technical advancements, the most profitable gains have been for the entertainment industry. Bots that were originally designed and built to help people are handed weapons and placed in an arena to fight to the death with other bots for the amusement of human crowds. You are one of these bots and your job is to survive and win the tournament. Just like the ancient Greek gladiators described in your system databases, maybe you can win your freedom.
Technical Information
Bionic Battle Browser Bots is a free HTML5 canvas game written purely in javascript by Ascended Arts. The game utilizies the Impact javascript game engine. HTML5 provides a great cross-platform development environment as web browsers become more and more capable with HTML5's features and javascript rendering.
Each arena has a number of computer-controlled bots and a set time you will play for the match. If you have more kills, or frags, then the computer at the end of the match, you win! To stay ahead of the bots against you, you will need to take advantage of the various weapons and power-ups that spawn during the match. Utilize your jetpack to navigate around the arena but be sure to keep an eye on your fuel because you can only stay airborne for a short period of time. Land on any surface to refuel your jetpack. After killing any computer-controlled bot, you have a short time to taunt while that bot is still dead. Taunting heals your bot and can be an essential skill to master to stay ahead. You will notice the computer taunting you after you have been killed as well!
This is your standard issue weapon. It has among the lowest in damage but has infinite ammo, so you are always armed.
This weapon has the same damage as your default weapon, but will bounce off of up to 3 surfaces before disintegrating.
This weapon has the same damage as your default weapon, but splits into 3 beams at 45 degree angles from each other.
This weapon has the same damage as your default weapon, but splits into 3 bouncing beams.
This weapon has slightly more damage and does not disentegrate when hitting other bots, allowing multiple enemies to be hit.
Causing explosive damage, this weapon bounces and explodes on impact with an enemy or until the fuse times out.
Causing explosive damage, this weapon sticks to any surface and explodes on impact with an enemy or when its 20 second timer expires.
Causing explosive damage, this weapon chases any bot it can find in its proximity.
This weapon is a mine packed into a bouncy shell. It causes explosive damage and is often difficult to avoid.
This weapon will electrocute the target, causing temporary residual damage and disabling the bot's jetpack system.
This weapon will render the target's current special weapon useless, also disabling the bot's default weapon for a short period.
This weapon will freeze the target, causing temporary residual damage, freezing the bot in position, and disabling the bot's jetpack system.
This weapon has higher damage and adds the health taken from the target to the wielder of the weapon.
This weapon causes lower damage but has a large spread, covering larger areas.
This weapon contains smaller explosive bombs that scatter and cause light explosive damge.
This weapon explodes on impact and splits into more bombs when a target is hit, providing the ability to damage multiple bots.
This weapon has high explosive damage, capable of completely destroying bots within its blast radius.
This item restores health to 100% once obtained.
This item continues to heal the bot for a short period of time after obtaining. Effect is lost if the bot dies.
This item restores ammo for the bot's current special weapon to 100% once obtained.
This item provides infinite ammo for the bot's current special weapon for a short period of time. The special weapon is lost when infinite ammo runs out.
To play Browser Bots, you need an HTML5 capable browser with javascript enabled. HTML5 is still quite new and if you are using and older internet browser, it may be time to update. If you are using a mobile device, multi-touch must be enabled to do things such as shoot and jump at the same time.
Browser Compatibility:Note that if your computer has difficulty keeping high frame rates, you can press Q to drop the FX quality. This lowers the number of particles generated and can help increase performance. Bionic Battle Browser Bots may automatically lower the FX quality if your framerates drop below playable levels
Scoring in Bionic Battle Browser Bots is very simple and follows most deathmatch rules. Every time a computer bot is killed, the player receives one point, or frag. Every time the player is killed, the computer recieves one frag. You will receive a frag if a bot is killed by the arena environment and vise versa. Whoever has the most frags when the match ends, wins!
Cheat codes are available to help you through the game or if you desire to simply blast everything with infinite life and ammo. To cheat, pause the game and then enter in the cheat code. Confirmation and cheat code status will be displayed as you can turn each cheat on or off. Note that if you have entered a cheat for your current gaming session, your highscores will not be saved. Refresh the web page to reload the game if you wish to quite cheating and be able to save your high scores. The environment may also still be able to crush you if you have God Mode enabled.
